Grading Day Progress at K1KA – Reflections from Coach Ian

Yesterday it was time for grading again at K1KA. Two children and five adults put themselves forward,  and what a session it was.

For several of the group, this was their second grading, and I’m delighted to say they’ve now proudly earned their yellow belts. It’s brilliant to see how far they’ve come already.

For two others, it was their first ever grading. They were understandably nervous, but they gave it everything. Phil and I kept things fun and focused, encouraging everyone to keep going,  even when it tested them.

Grading days are special. They’re not just about technique or belts, they’re about progress, confidence, and seeing what you’re capable of when you push yourself a little further.

Whether adult or child, new or experienced, I’m genuinely elated to see everyone developing  at their own pace, with their own goals. The atmosphere in the gym was full of effort, support, and determination. It’s a privilege to coach a group that shows up, gives it their all, and cheers each other on.

Well done to everyone who graded. You’ve made us all proud.
